White Bluff Project CONCLUDES

Thank you to all our Project followers for your support and interest and love!!! It’s been a blast.

The White Bluff Project has now officially come to an end but there is a feeling among participants that it has led to creative growth, collaborations, experiments and site appreciation that will last for many years to come and its influence may well appear again in participant’s future creative and scientific works.

This final news post is a chance to say thank you to those who helped bring the project together, particularly Project co-coordinators Ray Rixon and Sarah Mufford who gave so much personal and creative time to administration, emails, negotiations et al and yet still managed to deliver powerful artworks. Also, thank you to staff at the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery for delivering a fabulous exhibition and generating such interest and outreach in our local community, particularly Lisa Knowlson, Acting Gallery Co-ordinator who came on to the project late but delivered so much.

While our social media feeds will now fall quiet and this website will remain largely static, we hope it serves as an inspiration and platform for anyone thinking of launching a similar collaborative project in their community. Please feel free to contact us directly or individually if you wish to know more about the personal pros and cons of being involved in a project such as this.

We also cannot leave without a nod to the strength, diversity and quality of regional artists, not just in our region of the North Coast, but across Australia. More power to us.

And finally, a huge thank you to the site itself. What a privilege to have been able to interpret and engage creatively with Gumbaynggirr country. Thank you to the nature, the creatures, the trees, the water, the deep and intricate ecosystems that exist despite us and to which all of us owe respect and our very lives.
